Installing or updating the turntable firmware 

(Windows 10, 11)

1. Installing the driver to work with ESP32

  • Download the archive from this link:   drive.google.com
  • Unzip the archive to the root directory of the C:\ drive
  • Install the drivers from the  FLASH_DOWNLOAD_TOOLS_V3.6.4/drivers folder

2. Clearing the memory of the ESP32 controller

  • Run the application from the downloaded archive   FLASH_DOWNLOAD_TOOLS_V3.6.4/ESPFlashDownloadTool_v3.6.4.exe

  • Click on the ESP32 DownloadTool button

  • Click on the drop-down menu with a list of COM ports and remember their numbers.
  • Connect the ESP32 controller via USB to the computer
  • Open the list of COM ports again and you should see a port with a new number. Leave it selected. 

  • Click on the ERASE button
  • During the download process, a green box will appear Download
  • When cleaning is complete, FINISH will appear.

3. Installing ESPRUINO on ESP32

  • Press the START button
  • During the download process, a green box will appear Download
  • When the download is complete, FINISH will appear.
  • Close ESPFlashDownloadTool

4. Installing and configuring the program to work with ESPRUINO

  • Install ESPRUINO IDE from chrome.google.com (Program runs in Google Chrome web browser).
  • Open the ESPRUINO IDE program . For the program to work with ESP32 , go to the menu "Settings" , to do this, click on the gear icon in the upper right corner. In the menu, go to the “COMMUNICATIONS tab and in the Baud Rate field change the value to 115200

5. Download PhotoPizza Firmware to ESP32

  • Click on the folder icon and open the firmware file in ESPRUINO IDE at: PhotoPizza//Firmware_for_D340_D480_D700/v7 Espruino ESP32/v7_6/

    There are 2 files in the folder:
    photopizza_esp32_js_v7_6_display_1.min.js
    photopizza_esp32_js_v7_6_display_2.min.js


    Display 1:
    OLED I2C SSD1306 1.3" (black case)
    OLED I2C SSD1306 0.9" (blue case)

    Display 2:
    OLED I2C SH1106 1.3" (blue case) , install the firmware sequentially After flashing, the display should light up and show the startup splash screen.

  • In the drop-down menu, select the type of download Flash

  • Click on the button above the drop down menu to download the firmware to the ESP32.

  • Select the COM port of the device.

  • Wait for the download to complete.
    After these steps, the PhotoPizza firmware will be finally installed!
